Elfins™ convey more about who you are & what you do. Individuals and organizations stand out when their electronic correspondence includes an Elfin™ animation.

Including Elfin™ Animations in your E-mail

There are several different email programs available, and each one handles embedded images somewhat differently. If you experience difficulty, we recommend that you read the documentation that accompanys your e-mail client software.

Things to be aware of:
1. If you want the animation to show up directly in the body of the message, you must compose your message in HTML (or rich text) format. You cannot send images within the body of your e-mail if you are sending plain text messages only. Some e-mail programs do not support HTML messages.

2. You can always send an image as an attachment, without changing the format of your message.

Below are tips on using two of the most popular e-mail programs (Microsoft Outlook Express, and Netscape Messenger)

Microsoft Outlook Express

1. Change the format of your message to Rich Text (HTML)

2. Press the 'Insert Image' icon to choose the image to use.

Netscape Messenger

1. Make sure you are using the HTML editor to compose your message. Located under preferences/mail&newsgroups/formatting

2. Choose 'Insert/Image...' to choose the animation you would like to display.

Including Elfin™ Animations in your PowerPoint Presentations

Note: Animated GIFs will only animate in PowerPoint 2000 or higher. If you are using an older version, the GIFs will only display the first frame of the animation.

From the pull down menu, click insert - picture - from file. A dialog box will then pop up. Find the folder and select the appropriate graphics. Add all animations, photographs and clipart this way.

NOTE: Do not add animated GIFs through movies and sounds. Animated GIFs should always be added as a picture. Adding them as a movie will disable some of their features in some versions of PowerPoint.
